Oklahoma City chef advances on Food Network's $150,000 Tournament of Champions
College basketball fans will have to wait till next month for a Cinderella story to follow in the NCAA’s National College Basketball Tournaments, but March Madness arrived a week early in the 405 diningscape when our own chef Kevin Lee, a No. 8 seed, upset No. 1 seed Brooke Williamson on Food Network’s Tournament of Champions.
Williamson won the first-ever Tournament of Champions season and was champion of season 14 of Top Chef. The upset keeps Lee in the running for the $150,000 prize versus the remaining field of 28
He hosted an informal watch party at his restaurant, Birdie’s by Chef Kevin Lee, on Sunday, Surrounded by his hometown supporters, Lee was bathed in applause once the results were revealed.
He plans more watch parties events as long as his glass slippers remain intact.
