Hey fools, 'Eat, Drink & be Local' premieres April 1
Journey through the 405 diningscape on Channel 52
Your Monday bulletin is running a couple days behind thanks to a pinched nerve, but I couldn’t wait any longer to share the news about the TV show I’ve been working on with some very talented folks.
The show is called “Eat, Drink & be Local” and it will air Saturdays on KSBI, Channel 52, at 4:30 p.m. starting April 1 (no foolin’). “Eat, Drink & be Local” is a trip around the 405 diningscape in which I introduce Rick Heath and his daughter Shelby to the hard-working, talented folks behind the scenes in the local restaurant scene. Good news, you’re all invited to join us for 13 mouth-watering episodes.
The show will start at historic places like Florence’s Restaurant and Cattlemen’s Steakhouse before visiting kitchens with an eye on the cutting edge of culinary expression like Grey Sweater.
The show is shot and edited by Chase Spivey of Spivey Media. Sponsors include Super Cao Nguyen Market, Hal Smith restaurants, and 1411 Luxury Real Estate.
The first episode will also include special guests Nic Nicholas, and Jovon Bunkley of Nic’s Grill and Nic’s Place, Loretta Barrett Oden of the First Americans Museum, Kurt Fleischfresser of Western Concepts, and Andrew Black of Grey Sweater, Black Walnut and Gilded Acorn.
We’re also producing a podcast for the show. You can listen to a test segment we shot at Nic’s Grill on Spotify.
We’ll have a YouTube channel to watch episodes on, too. Follow the show on Instagram and Facebook now. We’ll be set up on Twitter soon.
Sorry for the brevity today, but the impingement appears to be aware I’ve been sitting upright long enough to be moderately productive and is taking action
.
Will you be doing a second season? I would be thrilled to add my restaurant, The Golden Spoon, to the next season!
What's going on with the show now? I've had two episodes recorded - 26 and 19 August. But they're actually commercials for some health thing. It's the same channel as the real ones. Duh!
